Should Monj show pay-later and instalment options?
Following the recent upgrades to our comparison filters on the site, a number of you reached out with a question: could we start displaying pay-later and instalment options alongside provider prices?
Some healthcare providers now offer checkout services like Klarna, Clearpay, or PayPal Pay Later. We’re putting it to a vote to see whether the wider community would find it helpful if Monj highlighted this information during the comparison process.
Monj is completely neutral on this. It makes no difference to us whether this information is displayed or not. It wouldn’t affect how you use the site, which providers appear, how our prices are ordered, or whether a provider is recommended.
We don’t endorse pay-later services, we don’t encourage using credit for treatment, and we aren’t affiliated with Klarna, Clearpay, PayPal Pay Later, or any other credit provider. This poll is simply about listening to the public: would you find this information useful, or would you rather we left it out?
The question
Should Monj show whether a provider offers pay-later or instalment checkout options?
This poll is about presentation only. Pay-later options are not discounts. Availability, eligibility, checks, fees, and repayment terms are strictly set by the provider or payment company, not Monj.
Public consultation
Should Monj display Buy Now / Pay later in the new filters?
Should Monj add a filter showing which providers display Buy Now, Pay Later options at checkout? This would only be a search filter, not a recommendation to use credit or spread payments.

Reasons some people may say no
- Treatment is often an ongoing monthly cost, not just a single purchase.
- Relying on pay-later options repeatedly could make budgeting harder.
- Credit-style options might feel out of place on a healthcare comparison page.
- Payment flexibility could easily be mistaken for a discount if not read carefully.
- You might prefer Monj to stick strictly to comparing prices, delivery, and clinical safety checks.
Why we are asking you
Monj is built around clear, honest provider information. Prices, delivery charges, clinical checks, and service details are all crucial elements when you’re deciding on a provider.
However, payment-method information is a bit more nuanced. Some users find it genuinely helpful to know their checkout options in advance. Others feel strongly that pay-later and instalment plans shouldn’t be highlighted when discussing healthcare, especially given that treatment costs often continue over time.
That’s exactly why we’re handing this decision over to the community. We aren’t taking a side; we just want to know what makes the comparison experience better for you.
How this fits with Monj’s safety-first approach
Just a reminder: Monj is not a pharmacy, prescriber, lender, or credit broker. Our sole purpose is to help you compare provider information safely and transparently. That includes breaking down pricing, highlighting safety checks, and providing context so you can make informed choices.
From a safety-led perspective, payment options will never take priority over provider legitimacy, clinical verification, or transparent pricing.
A deeper look: the arguments both ways
Yes: it could make provider information clearer
Some people want to know exactly what to expect before they click through to a provider. Highlighting checkout payment methods directly on Monj could make the whole comparison feel a lot more complete.
Importantly, doing this wouldn’t mean we are recommending one payment method over another. It would simply be a statement of fact: “This provider offers this option.”
Yes: it could save you time
Without this information visible, you might find yourself opening five different provider websites just to check how you can pay. Surfacing it on Monj removes that friction.
It’s a practical addition for users who want to assess the entire checkout journey before deciding where to invest their time.
Yes: it helps you understand the full checkout picture
The headline price is rarely the only thing that matters at checkout. Payment flexibility, delivery fees, and applied discounts all shape your final experience.
Many users prefer having all these variables laid out in front of them so they can compare the full package in one place.
No: treatment costs can continue month after month
One of the strongest concerns is that healthcare treatments aren’t usually a one-off purchase. While a pay-later option might seem manageable today, rolling these agreements over several months can quickly make your outgoings hard to track.
For this reason, some community members feel we shouldn’t give extra visibility to credit-style agreements.
No: pay-later is not the same as a discount
Let’s be clear: pay-later options do not save you money. They simply shift the timeline of when you pay, bound by the terms and conditions of the payment provider.
Some users worry that highlighting these options could blur the lines between genuine savings and borrowed time.
No: it may distract from clinical safety
When choosing a healthcare provider, the priority should always be clinical suitability, transparent pricing, and robust safety checks.
Some argue that introducing checkout finance options clutters the interface and distracts from the information that truly matters.
A possible middle ground
If the community votes yes, we would still implement this very carefully. For example, we could tuck the information inside a provider’s “More info” drop-down rather than flashing it in the main pricing table.
This approach ensures the detail is there for those who want to find it, without making it a dominant feature of your comparison.
What definitely won’t change
Regardless of how this poll swings, the core of how Monj works remains untouched. It will not change how we compare prices, conduct verification checks, or list our providers.
We will never rank providers based on their pay-later offerings, we will never recommend a credit service, and we will never frame a delayed payment as a financial saving.
Important context about pay-later options
Buy-now-pay-later and instalment services are forms of borrowing. While some people use them effectively to spread costs, others actively avoid them because missed payments, multiple concurrent agreements, or habitual use can lead to financial strain.
If you ever consider using credit or a pay-later option, please read the terms carefully. Ensure you fully understand the repayment schedules, potential late fees, affordability checks, and what happens if you miss a payment.
This page is not financial advice. If you are ever worried about debt or keeping up with payments, we highly recommend seeking free, impartial support from a recognised money advice service.

FAQs
Is Monj promoting Klarna, Clearpay or PayPal Pay Later?
Absolutely not. Monj does not promote any credit provider and has zero affiliation with Klarna, Clearpay, PayPal Pay Later, or any similar service.
Would this affect the Monj price list?
No. Showing payment options would have zero impact on how we order providers, compare prices, or run our verification checks.
Are pay-later options discounts?
No. Using a pay-later option does not make your treatment cheaper. It simply changes the schedule of when you pay the full amount, subject strictly to the payment provider’s rules.
Why is Monj asking users?
Because transparency is a balancing act. Following our recent filter upgrades, we received feedback from users asking to see payment options. While some find it incredibly helpful, others feel strongly that credit-style options don’t belong here. This poll ensures we listen to what the majority actually wants.
Would Monj give financial advice?
Never. We are a comparison platform. Monj will not provide financial advice, affordability assessments, or recommendations on whether taking out credit is right for you.
Last reviewed: 7 June 2026. Monj is an independent UK comparison platform. We do not sell medicines, issue prescriptions, provide medical advice, or provide financial advice. All treatment requests remain entirely subject to clinical assessment and provider approval.
