Wegovy injection dose escalation
Wegovy injection is titrated upward on a weekly subcutaneous schedule under clinical supervision, normally moving up every four weeks. The UK dose steps are:
Titration pace is set by your prescriber based on tolerance, not by the pharmacy you choose. Nobody starts at a high dose: 0.25mg is the entry point regardless of which pharmacy you use.
Wegovy 7.2mg: the UK’s highest licensed dose
The MHRA approved Wegovy 7.2mg on 12 January 2026, and in doing so the UK became the first country in the world to authorise the higher dose. It is three times the strength of the previous 2.4mg maximum and is available privately now. It matters for pricing, because it is a different product line with its own cost, not simply more of the same pen.

Because the single pen presentation only replaced the three pen arrangement in June 2026, some comparison sites still quote prices based on buying three 2.4mg pens. Is Wegovy injection the same as the Wegovy pill?
No. They are different formulations of semaglutide with different dosing and different pricing. Oral Wegovy prices are tracked separately on Ogovy.
