Why we give
A useful business should do some good beyond itself.
Monj began as a practical way for people to compare UK Mounjaro prices, pharmacy information and offers in one place. If that work creates a successful business, we think part of the benefit should travel further.
That is why we commit a minimum of 20% of relevant profits to UK charities. From time to time, we may also donate 100% of selected partner or campaign commissions.
The list is intentionally broad. Some organisations work nationwide; others are smaller local charities doing important work close to the communities they serve.

Charities Monj has donated to
Medstack Ltd, the company behind Monj, iGovy, Ogovy and Dayo, has made a donation to every charity listed here. Every donation comes from the combined profits of all four sites. Each card links to the charity itself and, where available, its Charity Commission record, so the organisation and registered number can be checked independently. Cards are shuffled on each visit because this is not a ranking.

Some charities are not on the Charity Commission register because the law makes them exempt. Most English universities fall into this group.

Exempt charity XN80595What is an exempt charity?
An exempt charity is a charity by law but does not register with the Charity Commission. Universities such as Oxford are the main example. Another body, called its principal regulator, oversees it instead. For English universities that is the Office for Students.
Exempt charities get the same tax treatment as registered charities, including Gift Aid. XN80595 is the charity reference HMRC uses for tax purposes. You will not find it on the Charity Commission register, and that is expected.

Community interest companies (CICs) Monj has contributed to
CICs are social enterprises. They are not charities, so they have no charity number, but they must use their money and assets for the community they serve.
What is a CIC?
A community interest company is a limited company set up to benefit a community rather than private owners. It is registered at Companies House and overseen by the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies.
Every CIC has an asset lock, which stops it handing its money or property to shareholders. It must also file a yearly report showing how it has served the community. You can check any CIC on Companies House using its company number.
