Why the gap matters. A gap of £130 at the starting dose after your first order repeats every month you stay with a dearer pharmacy. Over a course of treatment, the choice of pharmacy moves the total by hundreds of pounds.
How to compare pharmacy prices properly
- Match the medicine and the dose. A headline price usually belongs to the lowest dose. Compare the dose you take now and the doses you expect to move up to.
- Use the delivered total. Delivery, consultation fees and cold chain packaging change the order of any price list. Monj shows every price with delivery included.
- Split the first order from the repeat price. A first order code saves once. The price after the first order applies every month after, so check both.
- Check one-off against subscription. A subscription discount often ties you to a plan with separate cancellation rules. Read the terms before you sign up.
- Price the steps ahead. Prices rise at each dose step, and a cheap starting dose sometimes sits beside a dear top dose. The starting dose and highest dose pages show both ends.
- Look at multi-pen deals. Two and three pen bundles cut the monthly price at some pharmacies. Compare them on Mounjaro bundle prices.
- Check the pharmacy. Search the GPhC register and read the latest inspection before you pay. Monj lists both for every pharmacy on the pharmacy score page.
- Ask about maintenance. Some pharmacies stop prescribing once your BMI falls below their limit, which forces a switch later. See the maintenance price list.
How to check a pharmacy before you pay
GPhC registration
Every UK pharmacy must be on the GPhC register. The site should show a premises number you can search.
Inspection record
The GPhC publishes inspection outcomes. Read the latest report on the GPhC inspections site, or see every listed pharmacy on the Monj pharmacy score page.
A real consultation
A prescriber should review your health questions before anything is prescribed. A pharmacy selling a prescription medicine with no questions at all is a warning sign.
A price too low to trust
A price well below what UK pharmacies pay wholesale is a red flag. Compare any deal with the LillyDirect wholesale prices, and read how to spot a fake pharmacy.
Monj checks each pharmacy's registration by hand before listing, as set out in how Monj verifies pharmacies. Browse every listed pharmacy in the pharmacy directory.
Private prescriptions and NHS charges
NHS prescriptions in England cost £9.90 per item for 2026 to 2027. Prescriptions are free on the NHS in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. A prescription prepayment certificate costs £32.05 for 3 months or £114.50 for 12 months and caps what you pay for NHS items in England.
None of this applies to a private prescription. When an online pharmacy prescribes privately, you pay the pharmacy's full price for the medicine, and a PPC or an NHS exemption does not reduce the bill. Comparing pharmacy prices is the main way to cut the cost of a private prescription.
Price match. Some pharmacies match a lower price you find elsewhere. Monj keeps a list of pharmacies with a price match policy on the price match page.
Compare pharmacy prices by medicine
Medstack Ltd runs one independent comparison site for each weight loss medicine, all with the same price checks and the same rules on independence.
| Site | Medicine | How you take the medicine | Compare prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monj | Mounjaro | Weekly injection | Mounjaro prices |
| iGovy | Wegovy | Weekly injection | Wegovy prices |
| Ogovy | Wegovy pill | Daily tablet | Wegovy pill prices |
| Dayo | Foundayo | Daily tablet | Foundayo prices |
Each sister site runs its own guide for its medicine: iGovy on how to compare online pharmacy prices, Ogovy with a pharmacy price checker, and Dayo on how to compare prescription prices. For a short overview of all four sites, see Health Compare UK.
How Monj checks pharmacy prices
Delivered totals
Each price is what you pay at the checkout for one month at the dose shown, with delivery included.
Checked several times a day
Prices are re-checked through the day against each pharmacy's own site, and every table shows the time of the latest check.
No paid ranking
Tables sort by price. Some links earn Monj a referral fee, which never changes the order, as set out in the independence statement.

Compare pharmacy prices: questions
How do I compare pharmacy prices in the UK?
Pick the medicine and dose you need, then compare the delivered total for one month at each pharmacy. Check the first order price and the repeat price, and look up the pharmacy on the GPhC register before you pay. Monj does this for UK online pharmacies and shows the prices live.
Why do UK pharmacy prices vary so much?
Private prescription prices are not fixed. Each pharmacy sets a price from stock costs, consultation model, delivery and packaging costs and the margin each pharmacy takes. Some also run first order discounts, which widen the gap for new customers.
Is the cheapest pharmacy safe to use?
A low price is fine when the pharmacy is on the GPhC register, runs a proper consultation and ships the medicine in suitable packaging. Be careful with any price far below what pharmacies pay wholesale, as set out on the Monj wholesale price page.
Do the prices on Monj include delivery?
Yes. Every price on Monj is the delivered total for one month at the dose shown, so the price you see matches what you pay at the checkout.
Does a prescription prepayment certificate cover private prescriptions?
No. A PPC covers NHS prescription charges in England only. A PPC costs £32.05 for 3 months or £114.50 for 12 months, and does not reduce the price of a private prescription from an online pharmacy.
How often do pharmacy prices change?
Often. Monj checks prices several times a day, and the time of the latest check is shown on this page and in every Monj price table.
Can a pharmacy pay to rank higher on Monj?
No. Price tables sort by the delivered price. Some links earn Monj a referral fee, and pharmacies without a fee arrangement are listed on the same terms.
Which medicines can I compare?
Monj compares Mounjaro. Sister sites run by Medstack Ltd compare the Wegovy injection on iGovy, the Wegovy pill on Ogovy and Foundayo on Dayo, using the same checks.
